Bariatric revision surgery is a follow-up procedure performed when a previous weight-loss surgery needs to be modified, repaired, resized, or converted into another procedure.
For example, a gastric sleeve may be revised to a gastric bypass to support additional weight loss or help manage certain medical concerns. The appropriate revision depends on your surgical history, current health, symptoms, anatomy, and individual goals.

Gastric Sleeve to Mini Gastric Bypass
The sleeve is converted into a longer, narrow stomach pouch connected to the small intestine through a single connection for added weight-loss and metabolic support.
Re-Sleeve Surgery
A previously created gastric sleeve is resized when the stomach has stretched or remains larger than intended, restoring restriction and supporting continued weight loss.
Lap-Band Conversion to Sleeve or Bypass
The gastric band and its components are removed, and the stomach is converted into a gastric sleeve or gastric bypass based on anatomy, symptoms, and medical history.
ESG to Gastric Sleeve
Previous endoscopic sutures are evaluated, and the stomach is surgically reshaped into a gastric sleeve for stronger and more permanent restriction.

Gastric Sleeve to Gastric Bypass
The existing sleeve is converted into a gastric bypass by creating a small stomach pouch and rerouting part of the small intestine. This may support additional weight loss and improve severe acid reflux.
Mini Gastric Bypass to Traditional Gastric Bypass
The mini bypass is converted into a traditional Roux-en-Y gastric bypass by creating a second intestinal connection, which may address bile reflux or other digestive concerns.
Gastric Pouch Reduction
An enlarged stomach pouch or connection is reduced in size to help patients feel full sooner when anatomical stretching has contributed to weight regain.
Gastric Balloon to Gastric Sleeve
The intragastric balloon is removed, and a portion of the stomach is surgically removed to create a gastric sleeve that provides a more permanent form of restriction.
